Her Majesty The Queen is set to become the first British Monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee after a remarkable 70 years of service.

Queen Elizabeth II has reigned over us since 1952 and from the 2nd to 5th of June 2022, there will be a special extended bank holiday where we get to honour her by celebrating her unprecedented achievement.

So, what’s on?

There are many events that will be taking place up and down the UK. Screens broadcasting the events will be placed in The Mall in London, Edinburgh’s Princes Street Gardens and in Cardiff’s Bute Park. More than 70,000 ‘Big Lunches’ are planned across the country, with details of activities for children such as ‘Colour a Corgi’ being scheduled.

From back garden barbecues to full-blown street parties, there are events planned in neighbourhoods and communities all the way across the UK and it’s not too late to knock on a neighbour’s door and join the nation in celebration. It will be a truly momentous occasion, full of love, smiling, laughter and dancing- with rumours of the world's longest street party spreading like wildfire. As if that wasn’t enough, platinum-selling recording artist Ed Sheeran will be singing the national anthem in front of the Queen’s official residence.

Whether you’re hosting or attending a party of any variation, at Little Dessert Shop we’ve made it so you don’t have to turn up empty-handed. In keeping with tradition, we will be selling delicious ‘Her Royal Highness’ cakes as well as the nation’s most treasured Victoria Sponge.

What better time to indulge in one of our gorgeous cakes than to celebrate The Queen’s platinum jubilee? Order yours and immerse yourself in the spirit of one of the biggest events in the history of our beautiful country.

God save The Queen!
